The children have used Pixlr (an online photo editing package) to change some pictures they took to inspire them for their poetry writing. I think you’ll agree that they are fantastic!

Writing Circles

Year four started to experiment with a writer’s circle today. They worked in groups to read each other’s stories and comment on them, in order to help them improve.

Here are some pictures of them working hard!

Reading Week

P1000134

For reading week some of the children entered a ‘Story Hat’ competition. They mad hats to represent their favourite books. Well done to all those who entered and to Alishba who one the prize!

We wrote some acrostic poems this morning about reading. Here are a selection of them:

Reading is helpful to you and for me
Expanding your mind and letting it grow
Alphabet colliding as one to make amazing words that help us learn
Digesting fun facts and loads of brilliant ideas
In-taking all the great information
Non-fiction is full of fun facts
Gateway to book heaven

Reading week is this week!

Exciting adventures to be had.

Angie Sage wrote my favourite book, Magyk.

Danger is just a page away!

Intricate words form on the page.

No time for talking!

Gladiator Boy is a series of books.

Reading helps with your writing

Endless fun with stories

A wonderful picture painted in your mind

Different emotions, light you up or darken you down.

By Alishba

Reading quietly everyday,

Everything seems OK!

Authors,

Diaries,

Ipads too.

Nothing will change you

Go and read!!
